The 4th International Symposium
on Advanced Electron Microscopy for

January 27th to 29th 2016
Berlin - Germany

The 4th International Conference on Advanced Electron Microscopy for Catalysis and Energy Storage Materials, EMCat 2016, will be held from the 27th to 29th of January 2016 at the Harnack-House of the MPG in Berlin, Germany.

The symposium is organized by the Department of Inorganic Chemistry, Fritz Haber Institute of the Max Planck Society, the Department of Heterogonous Reactions, Max Planck Institute of Chemical Energy Conversion, Germany, and the Catalysis and Materials Science Division, Shenyang National Laboratory for Materials Science, China, co-chaired by Robert Schloegl and Dangsheng Su.

The 1st international Symposium on Advanced Electron Micrsocopy, EMCat 2010, was founded and organized by Robert Schloegl and Dangsheng Su in 2010 in the famous Harnack Hause in Berlin-Dahlem, Germany. It followed the second one, EMCat 2012, in 2012, also in the Harnack Hause in Berlin. The 3rd EMCat symposium, EMCat2014, was hold at the Seeon Monastery in Bavaria, Germany. The selected papers of all three conferences were published in three special issue of ChemCatChem. The EMCat conference series is becoming an important international forum for professionals and students to present the newest results in applying advanced electron microscopy to the catalysis. The symposium is a platform for exchanging views on directions in the evolution of the sciences at the cross-roads of electron microscopy and catalysis. A special focus is placed on energy-related process and reactions.

The EMCat 2016 will start directly after the International School on Chemical Aspects of Electron Microscopy, ChemEM 2016, which will take place from the 24th to the 27th of January at the same venue. For more details, see: chemem2016.org
